Welcome to my site!

I am an artist and art teacher based in the beautiful cathedral city of Durham in the north east of England. Originally from Portsmouth in Hampshire, I have moved around the country studying in the Scottish Borders at the Scottish College of Textiles and working in the textiles industry for 8 years in Wiltshire and London before finally becoming an Art teacher, working at schools in County Durham and North Yorkshire.

As well as teaching, I work from my studio at home producing pieces inspired by all the things I love including architecture, landscapes, nature, people and animals. Textile art is my passion and I try to incorporate free motion machine stitch into my work as much as possible, experimenting with layering paint on stitch to build and reveal an image.
